For my overall project, I’d like to flesh out and create a full-length video essay discussing into this aspect of the mystique of the femme fatale, taking into consideration all of the comments left by my fellow classmates. I do need to flesh out this idea of what I properly mean by “mystique” as readers might be confused by what I mean initially; i.e. I meant mystique as a general term for all of the traits behind what makes a character a femme fatale, I’ll need some time to elaborate more upon this idea of course, but this comment got the ball rolling. I also believe I need to delve into more specifics in comparison of the evolution of the femme fatale as the generalization of this topic leaves too much to look into. I’ll end up focusing on an early noir and a contemporary one mainly, while referencing other noirs in order to reinforce this idea of evolution.
I initially delved into a bit of what I need and what I’ll utilize in this project in my video essay proposal, but I plan on using the online library database in order to find more sources to quote or enhance upon with this video essay. I’ll probably screen record versions of the films online for footage to put in the video essay itself, whilst using Adobe Premiere to edit it all together. I plan on making a couple checkpoints within this project timeline in order to ensure that I won’t be rushing to finish it. I plan on continuously writing and finding sources for the first week after this proposal is turned in and plan to find video and images after I’d already progressed halfway through the writing portion as to not distract me initially, and so I’d have an idea of what I should be looking for.

You’ve mentioned a couple of things in the post to look deeper into, but I can’t tell which of these (if any) you’ll already be considering in the VE storyboard. 🙂
