This project will be a 20-30 min Podcast-style voice narrative where I will, following the introductory guidelines of my video essay (see Storyboard), delve into analyzing the idea of the Noir (and Neo-Noir) Soul. The 3 primary “goals” are to provide context to what the Noir Soul actually is (Defining) or atleast what I theorize it to be, point out to examples where can see the Soul at play; ideally pieces of Media with differing “strengths” and/or forms of presenting the Soul (Examples), and to postulate as to why the Soul exists to begin with and why we interact with it in certain ways (Association). There is possibly room for extra info and history as it could be relevant.
There will be no introduction, besides a brief opening. The VE will provide the context and what to expect, so it would be redundant to re-explain.
As always, layouts and decisions are subject to change.
Assume that “Noir” includes “Neo-Noir” as well, for the most part. I will note that I am seeing a trend within my work that I am leaning towards Neo-Noir in the long run, even though the nature of the Noir Soul arguably is something shared between them.
